2000 Saint Pierre St Julien Grand Cru Classe
Clear dark plum core of moderate intensity out to a ruby edge and thin watery rim. Clean and intense nose of lifted menthol, cedar, dark fruit, vanilla, smokey oak, and hazelnuts. Dry with excellent mouthfeel (coats the whole palate) a little plush but with structure. Plum and black currant on the palate and very well balanced.
Poorly made. Very smoky & alcoholic nose. Palette is dry, quite woody, but lacks fruits. Really disappointing.
