2000 Verget Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre
CHABLIS LIKE CHARDONNAY
Mouth itching for alcohol this lunch, plus having fish soup, so I think an aged Chablis may go well. So I picked this low key bottle to try. Not a bad luck, still very drinkable. Nose with slight charred wood, slightly matured pinewood and slightly cooked. Palette is a mix of very rich buttery flavor and the citrus and leanness of a Chablis is still intact. Really almost like a matured white burgundy. Happily coupled with my fish soup, cheers!
