When we buy red burgundies produced from Cotes de Nuits (northern part of Côte d'Or), the prices are exorbitant even at village level. Thus one needs to look further south from Cote de Beaune for better value. They're not any inferior compared to their northern siblings, like this 1er Cru plot next to the town Beaune, produced by upcoming winemaker Camille Giroud.
From a good vintage, rather ripe fruits on the nose. Body was elegant albeit texture a bit richer, expressive and very good.
