2002 Dom Perignon Rose

It's rare to encounter this rose from a good vintage, but one of my friends is a big champagne collector, so I am privileged to drink it. The primary concern I didn't give it a 5 star is that I drank the DP 96 which I felt it was superior over this 02 version. Nevertheless, it's still very well made, balance of acidity and fruits, very laser sharp precision, slightly dry. I do prefer more fruits but all DP are made to be balanced so due credit was given in all fairness.

Had an awesome dinner the night before my friend's wedding. Hardly had so many magnums, but the line up tonight is an eye popper Verite La Muse 2005, 2 x Masseto 97, Mouton Rothschild 81 in magnum, Latour 75 in magnum, 3 x Fontaine Gagnard Criots Batard Montrachet 2000, and lastly a Dom Perignon 2002 magnum. Wine of the night? Fontaine Gagnard Criots Batard Montrachet, simply awesome. I will post detailed notes of these individual bottles soon.
