2002 Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques
VERTICAL ROUSSEAU CLOS ST JACQUES
We finally managed to arrange for a vertical tasting of Armand Rousseau Clos St Jacques with vintages of 62, 93, 96, 99, 01, 02, 04, 08 present. Takeaway was that Rousseau CsJ is extremely consistent throughout vintages. Consensus vote was 96 as #1, 93 as #2 and 01 as #3.
This was my last second vintage, quite surprising for me as a few years ago I drank with JR and clearly my favorite. Very fragrant nose. Good balance, slightly elevated acidity and extremely dry.
