For such a super hot vintage, I didn’t expect La Mission Haut Brion to perform at all, as the Merlot content in this label was high. Certainly took me by surprise with sweet vanilla and smoky nose. Body was really mellow and elegant, so smooth, can’t detect any heat. So much potential still, very forward, very ready. In fact tasted better than the Angelus 98!
给予这样热的年份，我没有想到这个美讯酒庄会有什么特色，因为她有不少的梅洛葡萄成分，而这些梅洛葡萄完全不能耐热，早就秧了。所以我很惊讶第一口感，非常柔顺和圆滑，完全感觉不到热度，或是爆热的感觉。还有非常大的潜能，很前位也很平易近人，没有想到比金钟98还好喝!

MILDLY DISAPPOINTED
La Mission Haut Brion was a highly rated label, at the status that we call it the unofficial sixth first growth. However I was somehow disappointed with the 03 bottle I had, particularly when it was next to Valandraud 03.
Nose of smoke, tobacco and a hint of bacon or meat. Palate was a tad insufficient weight on the fruits, wine was slightly off balance with slightly elevated acidity despite the fruits were of decent elegant qualities.
