2003 Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru Clos
STRANGE VINTAGE
The wine was served double blind. It was the strangest wine I ever had. I was guessing all over the place for identity, but was not even close.
Nose of pineapple skin, using refined oak, probably used oak, and morphed into burned butter some 20 mins later.
Palate was extremely long, bitter on the front and back palate, superb layers, substantial weight (felt heavy) on the tongue, strange feeling. Slightly dull, turned buttery after a while. I couldn't guess burgundy, less a Chablis!
