Chianti produces one of the, perhaps most arguable, roller coaster wine in the world. It's really difficult to find a great and reliable producer in Chianti. Perhaps this Castello Rampolla was one of the most consistent producer that I have encountered. Never too loud, just a pleasant journey. I enjoyed the tranquility of the wine, albeit I realized the wine had some medicinal nose and palette being displayed, but it wasn't dominating, doesn't bother me.

This is a good surprise from Chianti. The first pour I said, ouch, another chunky fat Italian wine base on the nose and my first sip. I was totally wrong. MIT only took 5 mins in the glass to mellow down to very pleasant drinking experience, of which I thoroughly enjoyed it for the friendliness of the wine. The wine does not hv a lot of complexity, but the friendly approach coupled with the shortest time to morph itself into pleasantness is worthwhile on my drinking radar.
