2005 Argiano Solengo
I was very surprised to find out that this super Tuscan is made in Montalcino, and even more so when I learned that it contains 25% Syrah alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
It was a mix of dark and red fruits on the nose with loads of vanilla and oak, some spice and also graphite. Palate was extremely juicy with dark fruits, minerals, chewy tannins and good balance of acidity. Very big wine and still quite tight, can definitely mature longer!
