2005 Bouchard Pere & Fils Meursault Genevrières
VERY GOOD MEURSAULT
Not the best Meursault in today's line up, but one of the top labels. Normally I thought negociants like Bouchard cannot be producing top quality wine, but this Magnum bottle gave me a wake up call. Somehow I felt that the oak barrel they used were different from other Meursaults, I will try to do more homework here. The takeaway was that it was very forward and ready to drink (for 05!), very ripe, mineral and balance. Most importantly, the elegance impressed me most.
