2005 Chateau Magdelaine Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classe
PETRUS OWNER
Magdelaine is now owned by JP Moueix, who owns the famous Petrus vineyard. I am not sure who the winemaker is, of whether they shared the same winemaker or technical consultant, but from a great vintage this wine was a great pleasure. Huge ripe red fruits nose, predominantly strawberries. Palette was extremely strawberries, rich and ripe, mainly red fruits driven. From a great vintage, the wine itself is very ripe and enjoyable. I guess the influence of Petrus on other vineyard is obvious too.
