2005 Clos des Litanies Pomerol
GREAT VINTAGE
2005 was a great vintage in Bordeaux, I cannot even remember what Bordeaux wine I drank from 05 was disappointing. For Bordeaux, vintage preceded labels, buy Bordeaux based on vintage not by winemaker.
Clos des Liternes was not a well known label in Pomerol, however, because of the vintage, it did very well. Nose of matured ripe dark core grapes. Palate was light, pleasant and very easygoing, with loads of dark cherries and espresso coffee beans, really perked me up!
