2005 Dominique Laurent Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières Vieilles Vignes
FOCUS
I never knew Dominique Laurent produced white burgundies from Puligny Montrachet, not to mention coming from a good plot of Les Folatieres. I only had many reds from this producer, and the reds were relatively cheap and decent.
This nose was quite muted with slight lemon character. Palate was, however, quite disappointing. Flattish, totally lacked the Folatieres style of butter character, of which I would expect from all makers of Folatieres. I’d advise Laurent to focus on what they do best reds.
