2005 Haut Brion Le Clarence de Haut Brion
ROTTEN CABBAGE This rotten cabbage on the nose is almost a signature of Bahans Haut Brion or Graves wine, some may called it barnyard, but my definition is more precise. Other characters include wet or moist soil, spice. Palette wise also not very exciting, loads of earthy character, muddy, a bit woody, a bit thin on the fruits too, unexciting fruits. Frankly i have not come across a great Bahans Haut Brion, extremely far apart from the Grand Vin. Heard the 89 was great, anyone tried?
