2005 Le Gay Pomerol
NOT AS BIG ....
Normally for Pomerol produced in 2005, I would expect it to be big, if not a fruit bomb (eg L'evangile). I may have expected too much from this up and coming label.
Nose of very clinical medicinal smell dominated the wine glass, and was suppressing the rather big alcoholic nose, along with smoke.
Body was rich, but rather light, dry and tannic, red fruits, flavorful. Not something I would expect for Pomerol wines. If I didn't forget, RP picked this wine over all the 100 pt in blind.
