2005 The Colonial emigre Barossa
IMPERIAL
Was at a party, my friend pulled out a big gun Imperial size of an Aussie wine Emigre from Barossa Valley. Imperial size is 6 liters, equivalent of 8 bottles of 750ml, feeding almost an army of guests! Typical new world nose, jumbo Shiraz smell almost choked me. Palate was surprisingly pleasant and mellow, almost creamy. Thick and lush, almost too thick a juice that's overpowering, with simply no finesse. Really paled drinking next to a bottle of Clerc Milon 1982.
