2006 Joh Jos Prum Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese
TOLERABLE SWEETNESS
I was not too exposed to German wines, didn’t quite remember what Auslese meant. Opened the 375ml bottle for the sake of having a glass tonight.
Nose was attacked by pineapple and some kind of fragrant wood that I can’t describe very well. Palate was full of lychee and pineapple, the juice was thick and lush, quite layered. The sweetness was almost near a Sauternes style, particularly when it was warmed up. However I find the sweetness approachable and friendly. Go with dessert.
