2006 Reserve De La Comtesse Pauillac
Some facts about Bordeaux 2006 vintage, it’s a rather classic vintage, my experience with most Bordeaux 2006 was forward and rather ready to drink without too much aging. This Reserve de la Comtesse, second wine of the famed Pichon Lalande, was no exception. On a superb vintage, this second wine can perform wonders (e.g. 1985, 1989), but I consider this as an average vintage, and it did show some weakness. The body was rather weak with the fruits, I was able to taste a tinge of dilution. Initially the tannins were hardly detectable. However, on my third glass, tannins started showing up and certainly showed that it still has the potential to age for another decade or so.
