2007 Hugel Gewurztraminer Alsace Vendange Tardive

I saved the best for last. Amongst all the big name Alsace winemakers I have tasted today, I think Familie Hugel produced the best average Alsace wine, thus I'm impressed with Hugel.
I've finally hit on a Gewurtztraminer that I awarded 4.5 stars! Elegant nose, mild and subdued, mainly tropical fruits of a blend of lychee and pineapple.
Palate was impressive, sweet but not overpowering, good balance of everything: acidity, fruits and sweetness. This was great!
