2007 Leon Beyer Comtes dEguisheim
DRY PINEAPPLE ?
A whiff and I was already declaring this blind bottle coming from Alsace, as the tropical fruits are prominent. A sip and I thought the quality was quite good, I ran through a few makers like Trimbach, Weinbach, but couldn’t find a match. Back to grape varietals, the wine was prominent on dry pineapple only character without the lychee, which reminded me of Clos St Hune, a Riesling. Gewurstraminer also a possibility. Certainly gave up after a while. Was surprised by Leon Bayer, great yr!
