2007 Louis Carillon Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts
TWICE
I had the honor to taste this wine twice this month, and I'm pleased that both times I assigned the same score, although the tasting note was slightly different. I must admit Louis Carillon, apart from their flagship Bienvenues Batard Montrachet, the Les Referts is truly value for money. I wasn't too impressed with the oak profile; very oaky, charred oak or burned oak (signifying cheaper oak in play). Relatively acidic, sweet, forward, slightly rich and very buttery. This is summary of my 2 notes.
