Usually it's difficult to find great value wines, but if you stick to the rules of buying star producer's wines, it usually won't go wrong. We were having a blind tasting of Louis Carillon's wines, from village to 1er Cru to flagship BBM Grand Cru, this village level wine stood up against most 1er Crus, and took all of the connoisseurs by surprise when it was revealed as a village level! However it may be one off, coz the next blind bottle I had I was able to zero it down to village level.
