2008 Benoit Ente Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts
KING OF REFERTS?
I have my doubts about this being King of Referts, not only it’s not a famous producer of Referts, and 2008 white burgundy sucks in my books! It won the Louis Carillon’s Referts by a whisker, definitely not by a mile. It was slightly better on the nose with white flowers. Content wise, fruits surfaced with harmony and balance, with a delayed action whereby the acidity surfaced later, really strange phenomenon that puzzled me, and perhaps that won my heart to be the champion of Referts.
