2008 Domaine Armand Rousseau Ruchottes Chambertin Grand Cru Clos des Ruchottes
VERTICAL ROUSSEAU CLOS ST JACQUES
We finally managed to arrange for a vertical tasting of Armand Rousseau Clos St Jacques with vintages of 62, 93, 96, 99, 01, 02, 04, 08 present. So what's this Ruchottes doing here? This is a ringer, to see how the Grand Cru fares against the 1er Cru. Everyone attended managed to pick up the ringer as the nose is different from CsJ with strong grassy nose. Palette was dry and woody and stems and very different from CsJ. I even ranked it as a village level! Great fun!
