2008 Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes
NOT GREAT
Etienne Sauzet seemed to be much better with their grand cru, but the premier cru somehow lacked the omph or that last punch to make her the winner. However, it's not disappointing.
Nose of great fragrance. Palate had really good balance. The richness went deep down the throat. Unfortunately despite the richness, it doesn't have the depth nor body, only sheer power of boldness. As such, the wine was a bit superficial, especially when it stood next to Louis Carillon.
