2008 Henri Boillot Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de La Mouchere Monopole
SECOND OPINION
Had a bottle of Boillot's Clos de la Mouchere 08 just a few months ago and I wrote with furious disappointment. But I always believe in giving it a second chance to redeem itself, and it looked like it did, perhaps bottle variations or different growth in the bottle. From the nose I can sense that not too much oak was employed, resulting in milder and more elegant bouquet. Acidity was still pronounced, rich, intense, good focus, good finishing and loads of intense fruits.

FIRST BOILLOT
Served blind. First time I had this Henri Boillot Clos de la Mouchere 2008 and I was disappointed with it, unbelievable! Perhaps I'll blame it on the vintage itself!
Nose of slight oak, slight wood and slightly fruity.
Palate was extremely acidic, really unlike the style of Clos de la Mouchere. Forward and ready to drink, fruits are decent. I had so much respect for this label, to be disappointed first time was sad for me. Hope it'll improve in better vintages.
