2008 Lynch Bages Pauillac
LEGEND CONTINUES? Lynch Bages, an extremely reliable label in the 50s, 60s and 80s, easily match the quality of any second growth, and for certain vintages like 89, achieved first growth quality. But I had some disappointing 90s & 2000s. Does this 2008 hold the line? I was skeptical but after a bottle, I was persuaded the pedigree was excellent. Graphite nose with hidden dark fruits. Palette was slightly acidic, but quickly faded away when the wine opened up. Deep dark core fruits dominated the evening.
