2009 Chateau Pichon Baron Pauillac
NOT SO BARON
This was probably the most disappointing Bordeaux 2009 bottle I had! Baron 09 was atypical, consisting of no similar characters comparing to older vintages like 05, 00, 96, 95, 90, 89...
The nose was wet tobacco and dry raisins, and the elevated vanilla oak in the past disappeared in 09. Palette was missing the chauvinistic Baron taste, left with slightly elevated acidity, by right 09 should have good fruits while the acidity is masked behind the scene, this was totally opposite. Sad.
