2009 Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin
ALMOST A GRAND CRU
I was given a glass, served blind. My first instinct told me this was from Gevrey Chambertin due to the charming character. My second instinct told me it was a Rousseau, but I found it not fruity enough to be a Rousseau, so I didn’t pursue this route. I insisted it would come from a Grand Cru plot given the ripeness, and it came from a great vintage, probably 90 or 96. I almost fell off my chair for learning this as a village level! After 30 mins it was down the hill already. Too quick.
