2009 Domaine Leflaive Batard Montrachet Grand Cru
BASTARD
I was told Batard means Bastard in French, can someone point me to the appropriate interpretation why is it called Batard Montrachet?
Anyway, Leflaive hardly failed. This was one of the three Grand Crus served tonight, and it was my second favorite after Bouchard Chevalier Montrachet. Nose was not aggressive at all (compared to Chevalier), slightly chlorinated. Grand Cru whites always shine on the balance, at least this was my observation. Richly flavored, it had higher acidity than Chevalier.
