This is a auction charity event on a yearly basis, being organized by Christie’s auction house based in London. The buyer will submit a bid for a barrel of the wine of his choice, and an assigned winemaker, normally respectable, will see through the chain of production.
2009 is a great red burgundy vintage. I enjoyed this cuvee, very soft and mellow, with very good flavor, in fact very approachable at this point. Perhaps it’s time to get a barrel next year, plus I can put my name!
