For Bordeaux wines, nothing is more important than Mother Nature's play of a combination of terroir, weather and human factor. Even a simple label like this one have done exceptionally well. I'd anytime choose a great vintage poor label over a poor vintage first growth.
Every 6 months I popped open a bottle of this to observe content, and I never fail to be impressed. The strong fruit character (but not overpowering), mingled with great acidity and underlying tannins was great!
