2010 Castel Giocondo Brunello di Montalcino
DECENT
Finally hit on a decent Brunello after tasting five straight bottles of the same species. This label starting to reflect what's the good things about 2010 Brunellos are about.
Surprisingly a blend of sweet prunes and dark cherries dominated the nose (rarely I come across a Brunello with mixed red and dark fruits). Still at its adolescent stage as reflected by the tannin levels, very rich, very red cherry style. Weakness: rich but a bit fake, as the finishing was truly short.
