2010 Chateau Coutet Barsac 1er Grand Cru Classe
SWEET ENDING
Coutet is derived frim the Gascon's word for knife. This is with relation to the wine's fresh and crisp palate, which is their signature style. Also I learned that the climatic profile of 2010 vintage is similar to 1962, which was an outstanding vintage in Sauternes.
The nose was lively with citrus fruits, apricot, vanilla, and a tinge of honey. The palate was zesty, rich and creamy, but still had a sharp freshness to it that doesn't make the wine too cloying. Perfect way to end a meal with!
