2010 Jean Foillard Côte du Py Morgon
BEAUJOLAIS SAGA 1/5
I had the pleasure to attend an aged Beaujolais wine tasting, quite an eye opener for me as I had no prior experience to aged Beaujolais.
I was shocked to learn that the production area amounted to 200+ ha in size, 10x Bordeaux and 100+ times red burgundy!
First nose was very muted, slight wet leaves, light cherries and roses. Palate was slightly sour, blend of sour strawberries and chewy cherries, very classic and very Burgundian like style.
