2010 Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia
I attended a vertical tasting of Sassicaia, it didn't really impressed me, only a slightly above average tasting. So I will share my notes here. 2010 was utterly disappointing. The only plus point was the nose: elegant, strong fruit, mellow and mildly smokey. Then the nightmare started: extremely sour, the fruit and sourness will never come into balance as the sourness are masking all other characters. Even cheese made it more bitter instead of enhancing the taste. AG96??? Rubbish scores!
