2011 Branaire Ducru Saint Julien
Had a revisit of Bordeaux 2011 today. Quick summary: 1. It's a cab sav vintage, most left banks produced good wines. 2. Right bank can't really make it. 3. Quality is not across the board, pick your labels carefully. This wine rocks. Dark fruit, strong fruity nose, with coffee & vanilla underlying. Palette was interesting, stylish fruit, reminds me a lot of Smith Haut Lafitte 09, with charm, but without the purity.
