2011 Chateau Leognan Pessac Leognan
MODERN GRAVES Normally Graves wines are very traditional. Today I encountered a modern style and I mistaken it as St Emilion in a blind tasting. Nose of stewed fruits, lightly charred woods. Palette was surprisingly bright, almost like drinking freshly squeezed raspberry, mingled with a bit of lime juice, a bit sour with elevated acidity. This is atypical of a Pessac Leognan wine, drifting too far off the classic winemaking style, and I think there's not much aging potential.
