2011 Domaine Latour Giraud Cuvee des Pierre Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru
HUMBLED 1/3
In a flight of three bottles of blind tasting of white burgundies amongst Chassagne, Meursault and Puligny Montrachet, the objective was to put them in respective appellation. I thought I knew all of them fairly well but was truly humbled.
Nose was of slight smoke, very fruity. Palate was quite sour and acidic, the palate was kind of fat, implying normally a Puligny or a Chassagne. You should look at my expression when the answer was revealed, I totally was humbled to get all of them wrong!
