2011 Francis Orban Vieilles Vignes Brut Reserve
IMPROVEMENT
Today I just reported 2 Francis Orban champagnes, this would be the flagship. Made of 100% Pinot Meunier, it was aged in small barrels of 300 liters. Only 1500 bottles made a year.
Good and fine nose of autumn flowers. Palate was extremely dry, but definitely possessed more flavor than the two I’ve reported. This definitely had the focus, was tight and precise about the balance of fruits, acidity and bubbles.
