2011 J.M. Boillot Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Les Referts
HUMBLED 2/3
In a flight of three bottles of blind tasting of white burgundies amongst Chassagne, Meursault and Puligny Montrachet, the objective was to put them in respective appellation. I thought I knew all of them fairly well but was truly humbled.
Nose was quite similar to the previous post. Palate was acidic and sour initially but turned extremely fruity thereafter. Rather focused, contained and lacked flavor, and lean. All these were characters of Meursault but was shocked to learn a Referts!
