2011 La Gaffeliere Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classe
Red color of average intensity. Fruity, fresh and ripe nose. Caressing on the palate of fruity and fresh type. Developing very tasty, the wine evolves with coated tannins and a lovely violet aroma in its persistence.
Had a revisit of Bordeaux 2011 today. Quick summary: 1. It's a cab sav vintage, most left banks produced good wines. 2. Right bank can't really make it. 3. Quality is not across the board, pick your labels carefully. Nose was interesting with mocha, coffee & mainly very floral note. Palette was light & weak, reminds me a lot of Margaux styled wines.
