2011 Leoville Poyferre Saint Julien
Very lovely nose that has a tart red fruit base and tones of red currants, red cherries, cedar, red florals and some tobacco tones.
Had a revisit of Bordeaux 2011 today. Quick summary: 1. It's a cab sav vintage, most left banks produced good wines. 2. Right bank can't really make it. 3. Quality is not across the board, pick your labels carefully. This one is excellent. Very strong coffee, mocha & espresso on the nose, blind me & I think someone served me coffee rather than wine! Palette was so balanced, elegant, creamy. Wine of today's flight.
