2011 Pichon Baron Pauillac
This has aromas of fresh fruit and vanilla ice cream on the nose, with exotic and vibrant raspberry fruit to the fore. Elegant entry, nicely balanced, with more of that sweet raspberry fruit wrapped up in fresh cream and vanilla ice cream. A lot of body and character here.
Had a revisit of Bordeaux 2011 today. Quick summary: 1. It's a cab sav vintage, most left banks produced good wines. 2. Right bank can't really make it. 3. Quality is not across the board, pick your labels carefully. Very typical Pauillac nose. Just not like past Baron being the musculine, brawny style in this vintage, creamy, elegance & finesse. Decent.
