2012 Dominique Laurent Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles St Jacques VV
Gevrey Chambertin wines have risen significantly in the recent years, not because all was great, but because of the scarcity of the wines coming out from this region. I would say this is an average Gevrey Chambertin, perhaps it lived up to it’s 1er Cru status, although with some weakness. A whiff and quite a decent bouquet of mid summer floral notes along with an illusion of very ripe cherries that needs to be eaten. Body was with decent finesse and ripeness...very drinkable.
