2012 Durfort Vivens Margaux
BORDEAUX MARGAUX 2012 REPORT
Amongst the left bank, I will prefer the Margaux appellation over Saint Julien, Pauillac and Graves (didn't taste enough St Estephe). The stars are surprisingly:
1. Giscours
2. Lascombes
This label has been underwhelmed as a second growth for many vintages. While 2012 is no different, it did better than most other Margaux wines. Very woody and stemmy on the nose. The wine has light but decent quality fruits that more than makes up on its weakness.
