2012 Stags Leap Petite Sirah
SOFT SPOT
Not many American wines impressed me, as I always find it too heavy on the Alcohol by Volume, or for some other reasons due to lack of space here to be defined. Although I was impressed with Dominus and a limited few. Stag's Leap is one of the labels that I have a soft spot.
Nose of blueberries, young, alcoholic and fresh oak. Palate was jammed pack of fruits, really compact, although slightly sour. It has this elegance in a rich way. Very expressive style. However I still feel high alcohol.
