2013 Duchessa Lia Barbaresco
STRONG AND FEMININE
I drank a Barolo and a Barbaresco from the same producer side by side to really emphasize the difference between these 2 wines. Although the vintage was not similar, they were only 1 year apart. Both made with 100% Nebbiolo, they had similarities but also distinct characters.
This wine was very perfumed with lots of cherries, some cinnamon spice from the oak and floral notes. The red fruits were vibrant on the palate with high acid and strong but velvety tannins accompanying it.
