2013 Gilles Maudry Domaine de Maltaberne Pouilly Fume
I was having a seafood lunch at a famous Nice restaurant and this bottle was recommended by the Manager. The seafood was awesome but the wine could not live up to my extremely expensive palette. Simply put, this Pouilly Fume was too young to start off with, I got nothing but lemon and bitter lemon zest on both nose and palette. Although it paired well with foods like sea urchin and oyster, it was way too young. When I removed it from the ice bucket, it drinks so forward and great, I love it a lot more.
