2013 Le Macchiole Bolgheri Rosso
SYRAH BLEND?
Coming from the land of the Super Tuscans, Bolgheri, I was intrigued to try this particular wine during the tasting. I was expecting a normal Bordeaux blend, but was extremely surprised to learn that this is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah!
The nose had the scent of fresh red fruits, red berry, floral notes, and a distinct spice that probably came from the Syrah. It was light yet firm on the palate that doesn’t overpower. I can see this as a good value daily drinking wine.
